"visual music"	Wall piece Plexiglass piece Mixed media piece	ABOUT ARTIST Artist Statement Humans are richly endowed with the ability to respond emotionally to aesthetic experience. My work attempts to reach such emotions without use of subject matter or representation. It is similar to music in this respect and hence it may be appropriate to refer to the work as "visual music." Mr. Olson began his adventures in art as a Sunday painter in New York City. There he became intrigued with the sculpture of David Smith, Anthony Caro, Naum Gabo and other modernists.That started him on journey to sculpture which took him from New York to Connecticut where he works today in steel, wood, and plexiglas.
